THE PARTICIPATIONS FOR THE "26TH VARDINOYANNIA"

A taste of Olympic Games and World, European Championships at the “26th Vardinoyannia” meeting.

The “26th Vardinoyannia” which will be held on Wednesday 7th July at DAK Gallou Stadium will have a taste of Olympic Games as well as that of European and World Championships. Great names from all over the world have been confirmed for the top meeting of EAA, such as 12 Olympic winners (8 are still competing), 21 World Champions (8 are still competing), 11 European Champions (6 are still competing) Obviously great stars of the World classical athletics as well as the top Greek Champions will be present at the “26th Vardinoyannia” meeting.

Participations in 110m. Hurdles and Long Jump Men

The Organizing committee is working intensively for the preparation of the “26th Vardinoyannia” meeting on Wednesday 7 July at DAK Gallou “Pavlos I. Vardinoyannis”. The participations of 110m. Hurdles as well as Long Jump Men will be of High Standards. There will be 8athletes in the event of 110m. Hurdles and 14 athletes will compete in the Long Jump.

Alekna and Fazekas in the 26th Vardinoyannia

The Discus event once more will be of high level at the “26 Vardinoyannia” meeting which will take place on Wednesday 7 July 2010 at 5:00 at the stadium of DAK Gallou “Pavlos I. Vardinoyannis”. EAR is announcing the participation of 8 great athletes in the Discus event.

P.Iakovakis and a lot of other Greek champions will be present at the “26th Vadinoyannia”

The best Greek champions will take part in the “26th Vardinoyannia” meeting which will be held on Wednesday 7 July at DAK Gallou stadium “Pavlos I. Vardinoyannis”. The organizing committee Enosi Atromitou Rethimniakou is pleased to announce the 35 Greek champions who will be competing on that day with the presence of Periklh Iakovakh who will give his last strong race before the European Championships.

The 2010 Colorful Daegu Pre-Championships Meeting features strong fields throughout the competition, but of course all eyes are on Usain Bolt, who starts his 100m season in Korea. 

The Jamaican triple Olympic and triple World champion should be able to erase American Ivory Williams’ 9.95 seconds world leading time off the books, but the question is just how fast he can go in the first race at this IAAF World Challenge Meeting.

The International Track kai Field Metting "25th Vardinoyannia" announces the Starting Lists.

Veronica Campbell – Brown did not manage to compete at the meeting.

Unfortunately for the Greek fans Veronica Campbell – Brown did not manage to overcome her injury that she had at the meeting in Athens a few days ago. Although the Olympic winner from Jamaica tried to recover she did not manage, so she will not be able to participate in the “25^th Vardinoyannia” on Monday 20^th July. The cancellation was confirmed on Saturday afternoon after her training when she felt some pain and she decided not to compete.

A lot of countries from all over the world will cover the “25th Vardinoyannia” meeting.

The international meeting “25^th Vardinoyannia” has drowned the attention of the whole world. A lot of TV stations have showed an interest to cover the meeting live or recorded.

27 Olympic and 25 World champions at the “25th Vardinoyannia”

The “25^th Vardinoyannia” meeting which takes place on the 20^th July at the athletic center of Gallou “Pavlos I. Vardinoyannis” could be compared to the Olympic Games or even the World Championship. There have been confirmed so far 27 Olympic and 25 World Champions from the whole world for the top meeting of the European Federation. It is obvious that a lot of great stars from the World classical athletics will be present at the Gallou stadium.

Tsatoumas, Menendes and Lebedeva have cancelled their participations

Enosi Atromitou Rethimniakou (EAR) announces that the Greek champion at Long Jump Louis Tsatoumas due to an injury has cancelled his participations in the “25^th Vardinoyannia”. There have also been two more cancellations as well, that of Osleidys Menendez (Cuba) the athlete at Javelin Throw and Tatyana Lebedeva (Russia) the athlete at Triple jump.

Great participations at 100m. and 200m Women

EAR announces the participations that have been confirmed so far at 100m. and 200m. Women at the “25^th Vardinoyiannia”.  Without doubt the top name in both events is Veronica Campbell-Brown.

EAR announces the participations that have been confirmed so far for the events of 400m Hurdles Men and Long Jump Men in the “25^th Vardinoyannia”.

TOP CLASS PARTICIPATIONS FOR THE WOMEN JAVELIN

EAR AC announces the participations of 7 athletes in Women Javelin in the“25^th Vardinoyannia”. Yet another event of our meeting which can be compared to the Olympic Games. The presence of the Gold Medalist in Beijing, Barbora Spotakova (Czech) as well as Osleidys Menentez (Cuba) will stand out.

Top names from all over the world participate in Discus Throw in the 25th VARDINOYANNIA

EAR is announcing the participation of 8 top athletes in Discus Throw Men for the 25th Vardinoyannia meeting.

So far two Greek athletes have confirmed their participation; SPIROS ARABATZIS who is an athlete of our club, STEFANOS KONSTAS, the Cypriot APOSTOLOU PARELIS, the Esthonian GERD KANTER and ALEKSANDER TAMMERT, the Lithuanian VIRGILIJUS ALEKNA the Hungarian ZOLTAN KOVAGO and the American IAN WALTZ.

It is obvious that the Discus Throw can only be compared to the World Championship and the Olympic Games.

EAR is glad to announce the athletes that were chosen from the National Team of track and field to participate in the European Cup of the National teams which is taking place on the 20th and 21st of June in Leiria of Portugal and in the Meditarenean games which will take place between the 30th of June and the 6th of July in Peskara of Italy.
